Special tasks at St.Peter's:
Sidesperson
We have a rota of Sidesmen and Women who exercise a vital ministry of welcome before and after services, as they give out hymn books and collect them in again at the end. Please contact Mrs. Pat Newman
Choir
The choir practices on Friday evenings and then sings at the 10am and 6.30pm services on Sunday. Admission to the choir is by audition. Please contact Mr. Graham Stockwell for details
Servers
Being a server is a very important role in the worship of the church. If you would like to become a server, please let us know. Full training will be given! Please contact Mrs Hilary Wright for details.
Readers
Although it is usual for the Deacon to read the Gospel readings, all other readings, the Epistle in the morning and the two lessons in the evening, are always read by a lay member of the congregation. We have a rota of readers, but are always interested in welcoming new people onto the rota. Please contact Mr.Nigel for details.
Intercessors
Leading the prayers in the 10am Eucharist is a very important ministry. Those leading the prayers are encouraged to write their own prayers (the clergy can help!) if they wish, but usually the prayers are written by the clergy and then read by someone from the congregation. Again, we would like to increase the number of people on the rota. Please contact Mrs. Pat Southgate for details.
Coffee
We now serve refreshments at the end of every 10am Sunday Service. If you could help on an occasional basis we would much appreciate it. Please contact Mrs. Jane Winter for details
Flowers
The flower arrangers meet every Friday morning to decorate the church for the coming week. New helpers are always welcome. Please contact Mrs Elaine Weber for details
