Salisbury Cathedral has a College of Canons, which includes both Clergy and Lay Canons, as well as Sarum Canons, such as the Bishop of Evreux and the Archbishop of the Sudan. Apart from the four Residentiary Canons (Dean, Precentor, Treasurer and Chancellor), a number of other clergy in the diocese are appointed as Non-residentiary Canons (not honorary Canons), who are installed in Prebendary stalls, each of which was originally endowed with an income of its own.
